Cable & Wireless increases IP solutions skills with acquisition of Baynton Thompson Networks Limited (BTN)
Cable & Wireless, the global telecommunications group, today (18th October 2000) announced the acquisition of Baynton Thompson Networks Limited (BTN), a leading UK web infrastructure company selling to blue-chip corporates, including mobile operators.
The acquisition enhances Cable & Wireless ability to meet demand for IP services by adding a group of uniquely technically skilled employees to the Cable & Wireless team.
BTN was established 12 years ago, providing remote access solutions to large UK companies. More recently, BTN has focused on one of the highest growth sectors in the Internet protocol (IP) market by specializing in visionary e-networks that provide customers with the security, reliability, resilience and high-speed performance critical to the success of their web infrastructures.
