The Young Caymanian Leadership Awards (YCLA) is receiving a second year of support from its major sponsor Cayman National.

Mr. Eric Crutchley, CEO and President f Cayman National, made the announcement of the $15,000 sponsorship with Mr. David Foster, Chairman of the YCLA Honorary Board, in a press release.

"Cayman National is proud to be a major sponsor of the Young Caymanian Leadership Awards (YCLA). As the leading local financial institution headquartered in the Cayman Islands, we have always striven to play an active role in contributing to the development of the youth in our community", said Mr. Crutchley.

"Undoubtedly the young people are our future, and in a world that is progressing and changing so rapidly, it is important that we recognize and reward our outstanding young leaders, For the Cayman Islands to continue to progress and develop, the young leaders will have to be the driving force."

The YCLA is managed by an Honorary Board of 14 prominent Caymanians who were selected for participations based on their established positions in the community as well as their ability and willingness to serve as role models for the younger generation.

Mr David Foster, Chairman of the YCLA Honorary Board, commented, "We are very pleased that Cayman National has come forward again to support the YCLA as we prepare for the upcoming year. Cayman National was one of the first sponsors to step forward at the launch event in May 1999 and volunteer their strong support for the programme. It is important to note that Cayman National's continued involvement helps YCLA support the fund-raising efforts of community-based initiatives that target young people."

The mission of the YCLA programme is to recognize, and foster the development of leadership qualities in young Caymanians. "It is the participation of companies such as Cayman National that assists the YCLA to fulfill this mission." Regarding the Honorary Board of YCLA, Mr Crutchley commented "We express our sincere gratitude to Mr. David Foster and the YCLA Committee Members on their initiatives and congratulated them on their success. We have no hesitations in committing ourselves to continuing our support to the committee in their future endeavours".
