Cable & Wireless Launches Mobile Mail at Chamber Expo Cable & Wireless will launch its new Mobile Mail text-messaging service at the Chamber of Commerce Business Expo taking place from Thursday, September 14 through Saturday, September 16. The Mobile Mail text-messaging service gives digital mobile customers the electronic benefit of getting emails, news and stock quotes on their mobile phones. Initially, Mobile Mail will be a one-way service transmitting messages from PC to mobile. In the second phase of the project, to be introduced by March 2001, customers will also be able to send messages from their mobile phones. Mrs. Sue Buckeridge, Head of Mobile for Cable & Wireless Cayman Islands said, "Mobile Mail is another enhancement to facilities currently available to or Mobile customers. It allows you to stay even more connected to family, friends and associates. You will never miss an important message again." There are three main benefits for customers using Mobile Mail.
Customers will receive unlimited text messaging with Mobile Mail for a monthly access fee of CI$9. There will be no airtime charges for receiving text messages, nor any additional charges for the person sending the messages, other than their usual Internet fees. The first 200 customers signing-up for Mobile Mail at the Chamber of Commerce Business Expo can receive a month's free service by completing and returning a questionnaire. Some restrictions apply. Customers must have a digital handset to subscribe to this service. Mobile Mail will not be available for Pay as You Go customers. For more information contact: Andrea Fa'amoe
